Fall Premieres!!!
So what are you watching this year? Yesterday I had the flu, and there’s really no better time to have the flu than fall premiere week. (But you guys know how I feel about TV: I’m pretty much TV’d out for a month now.)
So what did you think of the premieres?
Running Wilde is my favorite new show this year. It’s about a hippie sort of mother (Keri Russell!) who’s raised her daughter in the rainforest, and the spoiled rich man who wants to win her back. It’s told by the daughter, who’s charming. When she finds out they can stay in the treehouse by the mansion, the girl says “Great! Let me get my thing!” (Get it? “Thing?” Instead of “things?” Right up my anti-materialistic alley!)
Chuck was awesome! It did feel heavy on the season set-up, but I don’t mind. I’m thankful that Chuck will still be a computer tech by day at the Buy More, and I love how the relationship between him and Sarah is developing and deepening. I love how they infuse the geekiness and comedy with real heart and lots of action. Pretty much the perfect show, in my book!
Cougar Town is on Hulu today! I can’t wait!
UnderCovers is also on Hulu today, and I’m looking forward to giving it a shot. Did you see it? What’d you think?
I watched five episodes of Covert Affairs yesterday (out of sheer boredom). It definitely grew on me, but I don’t love it as much as Chuck or Burn Notice.
Castle was okay. I do love the series, and I thought it was a sweet episode.
Parenthood annoyed me the most. Here’s a mother dealing with two autistic kids all day (one a friend’s son), and she has to take them out for dinner so the dad can have some peace and quiet when he gets home from work? He redeemed himself by joining his family, but that doesn’t change the fact that—hello—she just spent ten hours working her hiney off and I thought HE should be giving HER a break. Otherwise, I love the show.
Glee totally rocked! I was surprised how much I liked the Beiste. I have no words. Glee it just the most fun TV show I’ve ever seen, and is up there with Alias, Star Trek TNG, DS9, and Voyager as one of my all-time favorites.
And I can’t WAIT until Kurt goes out with the new quarterback. Rumor has it that they’re going to be a power couple, and I love it.
And I LOVE the new girl, Sunshine:

Big Bang Theory returns tonight!!!!
I’ll have to try that one!
The only one I’ve caught so far is Glee, and I loved it. Yep, I think the new football coach is going to be a fan favorite.
I loved Glee! My favorite TV show by far. Wait! Well, it’s hard to decide. I love Glee, though!
I missed Glee, but I did watch Castle. It was good. I haven’t watched Running Wilde, but I’ll try to catch it next time. Tonight I’m watching Project Runway, of course. Love that show.
I’ve only seen Project Runway twice, but it was fascinating!
I rarely watch network stuff. Tried Glee. Hate musicals, so I pretty well hated the poser acting. Tried Castle. (With my friend Stuart, as a matter of fact.) We hated it. Don’t see the allure.
I love me some Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, Stargate U, ghosthunters, and I fall back on Supernatural reruns when I’m desperate. It’s on twice every morning on TNT. New season hasn’t started yet.
I love musicals, Betsy! I’m not as crazy about Castle as others, but I do like his… dorkiness.
I do also love True Blood. I always meant to try Supernatural, but I never caught it for some reason.
We’re Gleeks! I’m reading your post while lying in bed, and I just panicked and told Adam we missed Glee this week. He taped it. He can live another day.
Oh no, Robin! Have you seen it yet?
Lessee . . . True Blood, Weeds, Californication, Big Love, 30 Rock, The Office, South Park, Sarah Silverman, Simpsons, Family Guy, Wipeout, Nurse Jackie, Robot Chicken, The Big Gay Sketch Show, Heroes, Justified, Spartacus, Top Chef, Project Runway, Boondocks, Ideal . . . I’m sure there are more, but these are off the top of my head. And yes, I know I watch too much TV. But I still have to catch up on Glee and Mad Men and Modern Family and . . . and . . . and . . .
Wow, LOL! I tried Californication this summer and loved it, but it’s not real accessible online. And Tudors! What else do you watch? I’ll think of them!
I share your disgust with many of the gender roles on TV. They seem especially bad in sitcoms. The guy is a fat, ugly slob who’s the funny guy and the woman is always working her ass off, serious (so he seems funnier) and of course, skinny and gorgeous. Nice.
I am looking forward to The Good Wife and The Mentalist – those are the only two shows I’m going to budget for this fall. CSI Miami just got too campy for me and the acting has always been kind of atrocious on it, but I got sucked into Eric and Callie’s romance.
I was surprised by how amazingly good cable summer crime dramas were – I really miss Rizzoli & Isles, The Glades, and Covert Affairs! I can’t wait ’til next summer!
Yeah. To be fair, Parenthood normally doesn’t do that, but it did this time. And it makes him out to be a saint for joining his family, and I think that just makes him a father.
I LOVED the Mentalist. It wasn’t available online, so I didn’t catch on to it, but I really want to see it more. I wanted to watch Rizzoli & Isles, but I somehow missed that. This summer had some great shows!
I watched the first episode of “S*** my dad says” and didn’t care much for it. Then I watched the season premier of the Office and liked it.
That’s disappointing. The book was sweet and hilarious.
Love this time of year! Fall colors, homemade pies and the return of Dancing With the Stars. Yes, I’ll admit that I’m addicted to it, and did I love hearing Bristol Palin say that her mother didn’t want her to do the show. Way to go, rebel girl!
I’ve DVR’d Modern Family and The Defenders, so I still have to watch them. This Sunday the new season of Dexter begins, so I’m pumped for that. And loved the new season of Two and a Half Men. Hilarious!
Running Wilde sounds great. I’m going to have to put that on my rotation.
Kath, I’ve only seen a few episodes, but I always enjoy it. I love that Bristol is a rebel, LOL. Sorry, can’t help it!
Oh! Dexter! That’s one to watch! I need to try Two and a Half Men.
Believe it or not I’ve never seen any of these shows….I live in a bubble. lol
I watch The Big Bang Theory and I think I’m in love with Sheldon.
I’ve got a thing for geeks.
Three and a Half Men and Criminal Minds is tops on my list too.
Wait, is it Two and Half Men or Three and a Half Men? LOL! Okay, either way, I ahve to try that show and The Big Bang Theory.
i am a certified Gleek and i really love the TV Show GLEE. Diana is very pretty ‘`.
An interesting discussion is value comment. I believe that you must write more on this topic, it may not be a taboo topic however typically persons are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers

Spot on with this write-up, I truly think this web site wants rather more consideration. I’ll probably be once more to learn far more, thanks for that info.
