Montezuma Castle

Photos 1 - 15 out of 32 | Back to Albums
Funny how the Arizona desert looks completely different 100 miles north. If you look very closely, in the middle of the picture, you can see the moon. I love when it's out in broad daylight, late morning. The perspective makes Montezuma Castle look tiny, but it's really five stories high. It's huge. It's phenomenal. It's amazing.
A close-up of Montezuma Castle. Two ancient doorways. I kept imagining a little head peering out of the window.
Another view of the 900-year-old Montezuma Castle.
Close-up of a tiny, pretty flower. I love the little fuzzies. A cool cave. More homes built into the cliff. Wouldn't it be kinda cool to live in a cliff?
The Sinagua people used this to grind and make mesquite flour. For some reason, I was fascinated by the soft, furry grassish stuff. Another cliff dwelling.
