Since I wrote this series, the kb limit has gone up; you can make it up to 127kb. If you open it in GIMP or Photoshop, just click "Save for Web" and you'll be able to adjust the quality until the image is under 127kb. The Kindles display area, for inside images, is roughly around 520x620, give or take a few pixels, depending on which Kindle/device. Kindle will automatically resize the image to fill either the width or the height, unless you put in the width and height.

Can you tell me how large can my image be when inserted into the Kindle format? Currently the image is 452 x 622 pixels. However I am concerned, because it's a color photo that is 824kb, and you say to keep them under 64k. How do I reconcile this issue?
Thanks for your help.
Great series! Well done.

Hi Victor! Not on the Kindle. In the epub format, you can use float in your css to do it. :-)

Hmmmmmmm....I'm not a book writer/formatter myself, but this is all nonetheless quite interesting! Very cool, Natasha!
